Build Big Spring 2022

The scale of your artwork shouldn’t be limited by kiln size. Making modular sculpture is an accessible and sustainable approach for working in large-scale. In this course you will learn methods of building large-scale ceramic sculpture including historic and contemporary techniques, as well as conceptual and political implications of building in parts.
Over the course of 5 class meetings you will build a tall sculpture in at least 2 parts. No prior ceramics experience is required. All are encouraged to apply.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required.
There are 5 spaces open for each of the sections. To apply, fill out the application form by February 11 and choose your preferred section.
Section 1: Feb 21, Feb 23, March 2, March 7, March 9, 6-9 pm
Section 2: April 4, April 6, April 11, April 13, April 18, 6-9pm
Section 3: May 2, May 4, May 9, May 11, May 16, 6-9 pm
Tuition is $750 including materials and firing*.
*covers 5 bags of clay and one firing
